On Monday, September 15th, Straight Forward Ministries and Swimming for Life Water Safety Education awarded 60 children from the Head Start school in Eustis an opportunity to learn to swim. For some of these children it was their first time to receive swim lessons and they were excited to learn!
Having partnered with the Golden Triangle YMCA in Tavares, FL, to help teach underprivileged children the fundamentals and skills of swimming along with water safety education. The YMCA provides the outstanding swim instructors and facility; your donations allow the children an opportunity to learn lifesaving skills.
Because of you, we have been able to award 85 swimming scholarships to the Lake County Head Start Children in 2014. It is the goal of this organization for 2015 to raise $15,000 so that at least 300 children have the opportunity to learn to swim and to learn how to be safe in and around the water.
