Happy Fall Ya'll

By Melinda Gill October 7, 2014

Happy fall ya’ll!Oh gosh I have waited 10 months for this month to get here. The cool breeze (ok, well cool enough for now – we will take what we can get after a long hot summer). The love of pumpkin patches, and how we look forward to taking the kiddo to our local fav at Kim’s Cabbage Patch. The many events that spread throughout our community, and across Central Florida… from Nick Hotel’s NICK-OR-TREAT and POWER RANGERS MEGA-FORCE WEEKEND to Legoland Florida’s BRICK-OR-TREAT there is tons of fun to be had in the Florida sun this season. Check out our FALL FUN GUIDE, and be sure to email us with any events you find that we should add.

While you are making the list of all the places to go, be sure to take some time out for yourself this season and although I want to type the words “be still” I do believe that this class is the most moving I have ever done. I gotta tell you, 4 months ago I had never even considered yoga and now I am doing TRX Suspension at One Yoga and Fitness! Alright… so I have only done one class, but it felt amazing and I can’t wait to get back in town and get back at it. Just don’t tell my instructor I may have stopped by Krispy Kreme to grab a little something as they scream up sweets for the Ghostbusters 30th Milestone. Speaking of Ghostbusters, be sure to check out the Events Calendar for the scoop on the Clermont Arts & Recreation Center Family Night at the Movies… where you can share the love of our childhood with your kiddos with a viewing of GHOSTBUSTERS!

Need a little incentive for your Macaroni Kid to stay on task during this season of fun? Check out the REWARD JAR, an idea our family implemented two years ago that still works like a charm on our 7 year old. Perhaps it is the Slurpee Reward she so desires, but hey… whatever works!

I invite you to take a moment this fall, as you prepare your Thanksgiving during this holiday season, and consider gifting a little something to the Swimming for Life Water Safety Education program. Our own daughter learned to swim through this organization, and to know how many lives are saved every day by their efforts is truly something to be thankful for each day of the year.

Here’s to fall ya’ll!
